Job Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join Mignot Memorial Hospital in Alderney on a three-month locum contract. This role offers the chance to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care within a supportive, close-knit healthcare setting while enjoying the benefits of island life. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidence-based nursing care, ensuring safe and effective practice from admission through to discharge.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, develop, implement and evaluate individualised care plans in line with best practice guidelines

• Deliver high standards of evidence-based nursing care across a varied patient caseload

• Recognise and respond appropriately to changes in patients' conditions, escalating concerns when necessary

• Support and guide colleagues to ensure care is delivered in accordance with agreed care plans

• Promote health and wellbeing by educating and supporting patients and their families or carers

• Maintain accurate, clear and contemporaneous patient records in both electronic and paper formats

• Adhere to safeguarding responsibilities, policies and professional standards

Person SpecificationEssential

• Registered Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registration

• Experience working at Band 5 level or equivalent

• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills

• Ability to work both autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable

• Experience in community or small hospital settings

• Evidence of continued professional development
