We are looking to recruit 3 housekeepers to work the following hours:

• 1 housekeeper working 5 days out of 7 on a 37.5 hour a week contract
• 1 housekeeper working 5 days out of the 7 on a variety of morning and afternoon shift working 32.5 hours a week
• 1 housekeeper working 4 days out of the 7 working afternoon only shifts on a 20 hour a week contract

The housekeeper will enhance the patient's experience by ensuring that the clinical environment is presented and maintained in a way which maximises the patient's sense of comfort, safety and well-being.

The successful candidates will have the ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team, with the ability to communicate effectively to patients, staff and visitors.

Main duties of the job

To ensure the environment is cleaned in line with national cleaning standards.

• Deliver meal/beverage service
• Cleaning Ward Kitchen/Meal area
• Following meal ordering procedures
• Report maintenance issues

Person specification

• Excellent knowledge of Food Hygiene including temperature control and HACCP.
• Good communication skills that will support within a diverse environment.
• Flexible in working practices and hours.
• Ability to demonstrate a level of fitness.
• Ability to follow clear instructions.
• Ability to show empathy and understanding of patient's needs.
• Good understanding of policies and procedures.
• To work well and effectively in a team and alone.
• To deliver the highest levels of customer service promoting a professional and caring manner.
• Relevant experience of working within a healthcare setting.
• Cleaning experience.

Qualifications

• Good basic education; ability to read and write and numerical skills.
• NVQ Level 2 British Institute of Cleaning Science in Domestic Services or equivalent.
• Food Standards Agency Food Allergy and Intolerance Certificate.

In accordance with UK Home Office requirements, Band 2 clinical and non-clinical roles and Band 3 Non-Clinical roles are not eligible for sponsorship.

All non clinical roles (Agenda for Change Bands 7 - 9) that meet the prescribed skill level (RQF 6) and salary threshold will be eligible for sponsorship.
