Back End Developer - Fintech

We're now growing our engineering team in Spain to power the next phase of our journey - and we're looking for passionate Backend Developers (Java) who want to code the future of finance with us.

What you'll be doing:

• Develop, improve, and maintain robust backend components in Java using Spring Boot and modern microservice architectures.
• Work on both client-facing projects and our internal product stack - everything we build has impact.
• Help architect scalable, secure, and performant systems across cloud-native environments.
• Contribute to CI/CD automation and DevOps pipelines.
• Collaborate with product, design, and domain experts in an agile and highly interdisciplinary team.
• Shape the engineering culture and best practices of a fast-growing startup.

What we're looking for:

You are a curious, pragmatic problem-solver with a passion for tech and finance. You care about elegant solutions as much as getting things done.

Ideally, you bring:

• Solid experience building backend applications in Java and Spring Boot.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and messaging systems (Kafka, MQ).
• Strong knowledge of SQL databases (Oracle preferred).
• Exposure to modern DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins, SonarQube).
• Bonus: Experience with workflow engines (Flowable, JBPM, Drools).
• Academic background in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar.
• Previous experience in banking, fintech, or financial services.
• Strong English communication skills (our team language). Spanish or German is a plus.
• Willing to work in the office for min. 3 days a week.
• A startup mindset - adaptable, pragmatic, and self-driven.
