B2B Communications Director, Dow Jones Energy

Overview

Job title: B2B Communications Director, Dow Jones Energy. Location: London Bridge (hybrid). This is a strategic, individual contributor role with a "player-coach" element, responsible for building the communications infrastructure, strategy and narrative for Dow Jones Energy from the ground up. You will serve as the dedicated communications partner for Energy leadership and subject matter experts, collaborating closely with the London-based B2B Communications Director. The first year focuses on establishing the operational playbook and supporting the transformation of the business to become a leader in the energy conversation globally. You will work in our London Bridge office 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Architect and launch a comprehensive global communications strategy for Dow Jones Energy, aligning messaging across sectors including oil, chemicals, sustainability, renewables and electric vehicles (EVs).
• Identify, train and position key subject matter experts and business leaders as industry-leading voices for market-moving insights.
• Manage profiles of experts at major industry events and across digital platforms.
• Partner with product, sales and editorial teams to translate complex data sets and benchmarks into compelling stories that resonate with trade, business, financial and broadcast media.
• Act as the primary bridge between the Energy business unit and the broader Dow Jones global communications team to ensure consistent execution of the Energy roadmap.
• Build and maintain high-level relationships with key energy and commodities journalists and broadcast producers to secure high-quality coverage of our data and experts.
• Support high-profile social media campaigns, advising on positioning and posting as needed.
• Establish internal communication channels to ensure the Energy team's successes and strategic priorities are well understood by the global team and the wider Dow Jones organization.
• Support a regular cadence of internal communications and engagement activities to foster collaboration, learning and growth.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of professional B2B experience in corporate communications and public relations. Direct experience in the energy space (oil, chemicals, commodities, renewables, or related industries) is preferred.
• Proven experience leading a communications portfolio that includes media relations, executive profiling, thought leadership, social media, and internal communications to drive business goals.
• Ability to thrive in a "blank canvas" environment-comfortable moving quickly, building processes where none exist, and driving projects from concept to completion.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with a track record of influencing stakeholders in a matrixed environment and mobilizing resources you do not directly manage.
• Strong writing and editing skills to translate technical market analysis into clear, impactful prose for a global audience.
• Experience working across multiple time zones and cultures; ability to travel as needed to support global events and leadership.
• Ability to work in our London Bridge office at least 3 days each week.

Work Arrangement & Location

Location: London Bridge. Hybrid work model with in-office presence required three days per week.
