The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Azure Platform Engineer to join a Cloud Centre of Excellence team supporting and evolving a large-scale enterprise Azure environment.

This is a hands-on role focused on Azure platform operations, governance, infrastructure automation and cloud platform engineering. You'll play a key role in maintaining a modern Azure landing zone platform while helping drive improvements across networking, identity management, governance and Infrastructure as Code practices.

Working within an established cloud platform team, you'll support business-critical Azure services used by multiple application teams while contributing to the ongoing modernisation and standardisation of the organisation's cloud capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a senior escalation point for Azure platform incidents and complex technical issues.
• Support and improve Azure landing zones, governance controls and platform standards.
• Design, develop and maintain reusable Terraform modules and Infrastructure as Code solutions.
• Manage Azure RBAC, identity and access requirements within an enterprise environment.
• Troubleshoot Azure networking, connectivity and DNS-related issues across hybrid environments.
• Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines and platform automation capabilities.
• Contribute to platform documentation, technical standards and operational best practices.
• Work closely with infrastructure, security, networking and application teams to deliver scalable cloud solutions.

Required Experience

Azure Platform Engineering

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure in large enterprise environments.
• Azure Management Groups, Subscriptions and Policy management.
• RBAC design, implementation and troubleshooting.
• Microsoft Entra ID administration, including Managed Identities, Service Principals and App Registrations.
• Azure Landing Zone design and operational support.
• Experience working within governed, multi-subscription Azure environments.

Infrastructure as Code

• Strong Terraform development experience.
• Terraform Enterprise or Terraform Cloud.
• Creation, maintenance and versioning of Terraform modules.
• Experience with private module registries and IaC best practices.

Networking

• VNETs, Peering and Hub-and-Spoke architecture.
• Private Endpoints and Private DNS.
• Azure Firewall, Application Gateway and Azure Front Door.
• Hybrid networking and enterprise DNS environments.
• Connectivity troubleshooting across cloud and on-premise infrastructure.

DevOps & Automation

• Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• YAML-based pipeline development.
• PowerShell, Bash or Python Scripting.
• Experience with automation and platform operations tooling.

Desired Experience

• Azure Databricks networking exposure.
• Azure Verified Modules (AVM).
• KQL and Log Analytics.
• Microsoft Azure Certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-204).
• Terraform Associate Certification.
