Job Description
AWTTC Senior Scientist

An exciting opportunity exists for two enthusiastic, motivated, and highly organised individuals to join the All Wales Therapeutics and Toxicology Centre (AWTTC). The roles involve working at a national level as part of a multidisciplinary team providing technical, scientific, data and analytical support. One permanent post will work within the medicines assessment and horizon scanning team, while a second 18 month fixed term post will work on projects across the Patient Access to Medicines portfolio of services.

Job responsibilities
  • Provide technical, scientific, data and analytical support at a national level.
  • Work within the medicines assessment and horizon scanning team (permanent post).
  • Lead and coordinate projects across the Patient Access to Medicines portfolio (fixed term post).
  • Present findings to diverse stakeholders, including clinical experts and policy makers.
  • Work to tight deadlines and establish effective working relationships.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: MSc postgraduate qualification or equivalent level of knowledge.
  • Experience: Critical appraisal skills; evidence of published work; effective team working/leading a team; experience in guideline development/medicine assessment methodology.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; report writing/editorial skills; database and data entry; project management.
  • Knowledge: Awareness of Welsh Government/Department of Health NHS strategies.
Benefits & Conditions
  • Salary: £50,129 to £57,365 per annum, pro rata.
  • Contract: One permanent post and one 18 month fixed term contract.
  • Working pattern: Full time or part time.
  • Location: Routledge Acamdemic Centre, University Hospital Llandough.
