DevOps/Cloud Engineer (AWS) | Active SC Clearance Essential
Day Rate: £600 per day (Outside IR35)
Location: Hybrid, London (1 day per week onsite)
Contract Length: Initial 6 months
Start Date: Immediate/ASAP
Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance required
We are partnering with a leading government programme to recruit an experienced DevOps/Cloud Engineer to join a highly skilled cloud engineering function. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a large-scale digital transformation programme, helping to design, automate and support secure cloud environments that underpin critical public sector services.
Working closely with architects, developers and security specialists, you will play a key role in building scalable cloud platforms, enhancing deployment capabilities and driving DevOps best practices across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain secure AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.
- Build, optimise and support CI/CD pipelines utilising GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
- Deploy, manage and troubleshoot containerised applications with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
- Implement monitoring, logging and observability solutions to improve platform visibility.
- Automate operational and deployment processes using Python and Bash Scripting.
- Ensure platform reliability, scalability and high availability.
- Maintain security, compliance and governance standards across cloud environments.
- Support DevSecOps and Platform Engineering initiatives.
- Collaborate with technical teams, providing guidance and best-practice recommendations.
- Active SC Clearance (mandatory).
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
- Proven expertise with Terraform.
- Commercial experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS preferred).
- Strong knowledge of GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
- Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
- Bash Scripting and Python automation experience.
- Solid understanding of IAM and cloud security principles.
- Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure to monitoring, logging and observability tools.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
- £600 per day, Outside IR35.
- Initial 6-month contract with strong extension potential.
- Hybrid working model with 1 day per week onsite in London.
