About the Role

We are looking for an experienced AWS Cloud Architect to join a leading consultancy, supporting the design and delivery of cloud foundation and platform modernisation initiatives.

You will play a key role in defining AWS architecture standards, designing cloud foundations and providing technical direction to engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect AWS cloud foundation platforms, including landing zones, account structures and networking.
• Define architecture standards for IaaS orchestration, platform engineering and modernisation.
• Lead the build-out of cloud foundations across compute, storage, networking and security.
• Provide architectural guidance on platform modernisation and database consolidation.
• Work closely with engineering teams to translate architecture into practical, implementable designs.
• Ensure solutions align with FinOps and cost-optimisation best practices.
• Produce clear architecture documentation and communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

Key Requirements

• Experience in Cloud Architecture, with strong AWS expertise.
• AWS certification preferred, ideally AWS Solutions Architect - Professional.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• AWS Landing Zones
• VPC architecture
• IAM
• Multi-account strategies
• Experience with Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
• Exposure to database migration and consolidation projects.
• Strong stakeholder management and documentation skills.
• Ability to work closely with engineering teams and provide clear architectural direction.
