AVP, Litigation and Coverage Counsel Work from Home(US)

Overview

The focus of this position is to assist the Litigation Legal team in providing legal advice to Enstar Group Limited entities in connection with reinsurance litigations and arbitrations in the United States. The primary focus is to provide legal support and assistance for the reinsurance related disputes involving reinsured books of business and assist in the handling of the non-ordinary course litigations for all Enstar entities domiciled in the US. Additional focus of this position is to assist in the handling of non-ordinary course litigations, reinsurance arbitrations and other litigations venued in the United States for Enstar entities domiciled outside of the US. This position also provides support for the Group Coverage Counsel in connection with ordinary course insurance coverage and bad faith matters in North America.

What you will be doing

Key Accountabilities

• Provide US legal advice to Enstar Group Limited entities
• Handle and support Enstar Group Limited company reinsurance arbitrations and litigations
• Provide support in the handling of Enstar Group Limited entities in connection with litigations
• Provide support in the handling of reinsurance relationships with the Enstar Group Limited claims teams
• Provides support for the Group Coverage Counsel in connection with ordinary course insurance coverage and bad faith matters in North America
• Provides timely/efficient responses to Enstar internal clients on all assignments
• Performs special projects/other duties as assigned
• In addition to the above key responsibilities, you may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as the Company may reasonably require

Qualifications

• Minimum four-year degree from accredited college or university
• Juris Doctorate degree from accredited law school
• Admission in a minimum of one US state bar and maintenance of active law licenses
• Minimum of 3 years of reinsurance-related litigation/arbitration experience
• Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience
• Working knowledge of, practice in and skill with litigation procedures
• Knowledge of reinsurance treaties and contracts
• Good working knowledge of Excel
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to translate complex issues in a simple, straightforward manner and communicate these accordingly
• Ability to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
• Superior attention to detail and quality
