- Relevant university IT degree
- At least 1 year of application support or automation experience
- Relevant qualifications in software development if you don't already haveany practical development work experience

What's the purpose of your role?
As part of your role, you will join at least one project team, collaborating within a stable Agile teamalongside business analysts and developers. Your involvement will span the entire project lifecycle;from understanding the scope to defining key user journeys and scenarios.
Beyond testing the product, you will play a crucial role in shaping the test strategy, whichincludesagreeing on the testing approach, identifying potential risks, and establishing realistic timelines toensure successful delivery.
What you'll do
You will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software through meticulous anddetailed testing practices.
Design, develop, and maintain robust end-to-end automated tests using Playwright withTypeScript to ensure high-quality web application releases.
Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and product managers to define test strategiesand integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
Maintain and enhance existing legacy test suites written in Selenium with C# ensuring continued reliability and compatibility with evolving application features.
Troubleshoot and debug test failures, identifying root causes and implementing effectivesolutions.
Contribute to test framework improvements and advocate for best practices in testautomation and code quality.
Document test cases, test results, and automation processes to support efficient testing andtest reporting.
Proactively research, evaluate, and recommend new tools, frameworks, and testing.
Essential Requirements
- Solid academic achievement including GSCEs (or equivalent) in Math and English at grades 5 to 9 as a minimum.
- ISTQB Foundation level as a minimum.
- Experience with test automation frameworks and tools.
- Experience in softwaretesting, specializing in modern website validation.
- At least 2 years of hands-on expertise in writingautomated tests using Selenium WebDriver orsimilar frameworks.
- Proven experience in testing Web UI and Web APIapplications to ensure functionality andperformance.
- Skilled in utilizing defect tracking systems such asMicrosoft DevOps, Jira, Bugzilla, and other similarplatforms.
- Familiarity with functional, non-functional, andmaintenance testing principles.
Strong grasp of software developmentmethodologies and best practices.
Additional requirements
- Knowledge of Continuous Integration (CI) andContinuous Delivery (CD) processes.
- Ability to analyse and interpret businessrequirements effectively.
- Genuine interest in and eagerness to learn aboutthe financial services industry and its products.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in technical testing, including functional,cross-browser, regression, and integration testing.
- Strong expertise in test automation usingPlaywright and ability to utilise Gherkin syntax.
- Proficiency in Web API, JavaScript, and TypeScriptfor software development and testing.
- Experience working with SQL for data validationand testing.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a teamenvironment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills,with the ability to convey complex technicalconcepts to non-technical colleagues
Role Location
This is a hybrid role where you will work from the office at least twice each week. Normal days in the office are Tuesdays and Thursdays.
