Automation Anywhere Developer (RPA) - Remote contract (outside IR35)

Automation Anywhere, RPA, Control Room, Bot Editor, Document Automation (IDP), Automation Co-Pilot, PDD, SDD

Automation Anywhere Developer (RPA) required for an initial 6-month contract working predominantly remotely but will liaise with Client stakeholders in the UK.

For this role cands can be based in UK, EU, or Ukraine where some of the delivery team are based.

Automation Anywhere Developer (RPA) - About the role:

My client is an organisation that builds intelligent automation and AI solutions that help their clients work faster/smarter and drive operational value at scale. They partner with Private Equity firms to help fix & improve inefficient processes using a mix of AI, RPA, and process redesign to devise solutions that operate at scale.

The Automation Anywhere Developer will sit amongst a small delivery team which includes other Developers, Solution Architect, BA, and Delivery Director.

Strong hands-on Automation 360 experience is required as this role will involve being Platform expert on Automation Anywhere and own the environment setup at the client.

Automation Anywhere Developer ( RPA) - Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design, build and run automation solutions that solve business problems across their client portfolio, using API Integration, RPA, or a Hybrid.
  2. Develop and deploy automations in Automation Anywhere ( Control Room, Bot Editor, Bot Runners) also utilising skills in JavaScript, Python, Rest APIs,
  3. Release and run - owning your own automations end-to-end in production, to include exception handling, monitoring, incident management, and performance optimization.
  4. Working closely with BA - translate documented processes into robust, maintainable workflows and own them in production.
  5. Full end-to-end ownership taking automations from design through build, release and run to see impact on the customer environment.
  6. Delivery increasingly combines Automation Anywhere with LLM APIs, Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) and agentic components -helping the individual grow into AI Engineering work.
  7. Follow a structured delivery process - PDD, SDD, code reviews and defined quality gates within a build-release-run delivery model.

Automation Anywhere Developer (RPA) - Essential Technical Skills:

Candidates must have some exposure to most of the technologies listed below:

  • Ideally a min of 3 years of hands-on RPA development experience
  • Strong proficiency in Automation Anywhere (Control Room & Bot Editor)
  • Working knowledge of Python, JavaScript or VBScript, JSON, REST APIs
  • Familiarity with PDD/SDD documentation and structured development life cycles.
  • Ideally have taken one automation from PDD to stable production.
  • Understanding of exception handling, logging, and production support practices
  • Strong English communication skills as the role will require interaction with clients based in the UK.
  • Ideally be a strong developer capable of setting up and maintaining the client's Automation Anywhere environment, not just building within an existing one ( negotiable).

Candidates who have a strong background in UiPath or Blue Prism willing to cross-train to Automation Anywhere are also encouraged to apply.

The contract is initially for 6 months, (but is due to last for 18 months). It offers a rate up to 400 Euros per day (outside IR35)
