SeeAbility is a charity supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, and sight loss in the UK. We seek an Oliver McGowan mandatory training expert with professional or lived experience of autism who is confident speaking in front of groups.
You will support health and social care colleagues in understanding the needs of people with learning disabilities and autism. You will collaborate with other trainers, including those with lived experience, to deliver sessions that are open, honest, and accessible.
Responsibilities
- Share your autism experience during training sessions
- Deliver the Oliver McGowan mandatory training
- Ensure training is respectful, clear, and inclusive of diverse perspectives
- Engage with participants and answer questions
- Assist others in learning how to better support people with learning disabilities and autism
Required Skills
- Personal experience of autism
- Comfortable speaking in groups and sharing your story
- Belief in fair and respectful treatment for all
- Friendly and open demeanor
- Ability to work well in a team
- Willingness and ability to travel as part of the role
- Capacity to participate in 3-hour training sessions
