Hours:
37.0 Hours per Week

We are currently recruiting for Auditors to join our experienced and well regarded Audit team, based at the Council House in Solihull town centre.

In this interesting and varied role you will perform high quality audit reviews to provide independent assurance to the Council's Chief Executive, Directors and elected Members, that its risk management, governance and internal control processes are operating effectively. You will also identify potential improvements to work practices, where appropriate.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to develop new and existing skills and advance their expertise in audit, as we will support your professional development and studies through to full qualification in audit or accountancy, whilst also assisting you to broaden your experience and eventual progression through to grade F.

For those who are already experienced in internal audit and fully qualified in audit or accountancy, you will be placed on a grade which reflects your qualifications and experience (please see the Job Description and Person Specification for further details).

To ensure we continue to deliver the quality audit service that we currently pride ourselves on, you will need:

  • Experience of delivering excellent customer service.
  • Great interpersonal skills to influence others and foster effective working relationships with other employees at all levels.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills to analyse information and data.
  • Effective ICT skills to interrogate systems.

For grades E and F, you will need experience of understanding and interpreting regulations, legislation and procedures as well as experience of working in an internal audit function and undertaking a broad range of audit assurance, consultancy reviews and investigations independently (please see Person Specification for full details).

Therefore, you will be able to work on a hybrid basis, balancing remote work from home with working at our conveniently located offices in Solihull town centre. Your exact working arrangements will be agreed upon appointment, balancing meet your personal commitments with our business needs.
