Our client, a highly regarded UK accountancy and advisory firm, is looking to appoint a Technical & Training Manager to join its National Audit team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced audit professional looking to step away from client delivery into a strategic, firmwide role, where you'll play a key part in developing technical excellence, supporting audit quality, and shaping the learning and development of audit professionals from trainee through to Partner level.

The Opportunity

Working closely with senior technical leaders and the Learning & Development team, you'll help design, develop and deliver high-quality technical training, support complex technical queries, and contribute to the firm's ongoing commitment to audit quality and continuous improvement.

This is a varied position offering genuine career progression, exposure to senior stakeholders, and the opportunity to influence technical standards across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to audit and accounts teams across UK GAAP, IFRS and auditing standards
  • Assist with the firm's technical helpdesk, responding to complex accounting and audit queries
  • Develop and deliver engaging technical training programmes for qualified staff and trainees
  • Create and maintain high-quality training materials, technical guidance and learning resources
  • Support national technical events, conferences and Director/RI technical sessions
  • Work alongside the Learning & Development team to coordinate CPD programmes and monitor compliance
  • Prepare technical updates and firmwide communications covering changes in accounting, audit and regulation
  • Contribute to the continuous enhancement of audit methodology, training and technical resources
About You

We're keen to speak with qualified accountants who have a strong technical audit background and a passion for developing others.

You'll ideally have:
  • ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, ISA (UK) and the FRC Ethical Standard
  • Practical audit experience gained within an accountancy practice
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience preparing or delivering technical training (desirable)
  • An interest in audit innovation, technology and continuous improvement
  • The ability to explain complex technical matters in a clear and practical way
Why Apply?
  • Move into a highly respected national technical role
  • Influence audit quality across the firm
  • Deliver training to professionals from trainee to Partner level
  • Hybrid and flexible working
  • Genuine long-term career progression
  • Collaborative, supportive and inclusive culture
  • Opportunity to work with senior technical specialists across the business

If you're currently working in audit, audit quality, methodology or technical accounting and are looking for a role where you can make a broader impact on the profession, we'd be delighted to discuss this opportunity in confidence.
