The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing, modern accountancy and business advisory firm that is building a genuine alternative to the traditional Top 10.
The firm works with an incredibly varied client base, ranging from entrepreneurial and high-growth businesses through to larger corporate and international organisations.
As an Audit Assistant Manager, you'll take greater ownership of audit assignments, work directly with senior members of the team and play an important role in developing junior auditors.
It's an ideal opportunity for a recently qualified Audit Senior looking to make their first move into management, or an existing Assistant Manager looking for greater responsibility within an ambitious and growing firm.
The Role
Working closely with Audit Managers, Directors and Partners, you'll help manage audit assignments from planning through to completion.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing audit assignments from planning through to completion
- Taking responsibility for audit fieldwork and ensuring assignments remain on track
- Supervising Audit Seniors and trainees on client assignments
- Reviewing audit working papers and providing constructive feedback
- Identifying key audit risks and ensuring these are appropriately addressed
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements
- Building strong relationships with finance teams and senior client stakeholders
- Acting as a key point of contact throughout the audit process
- Supporting Managers with portfolio planning, budgeting and workflow
- Ensuring work complies with relevant auditing and accounting standards
- Coaching, mentoring and developing junior members of the Audit team
- Identifying opportunities where the wider firm can provide additional support to clients
- Working collaboratively with Tax, Corporate Finance and other specialist teams
The Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- ACA or ACCA qualification
- Strong audit experience gained within UK accountancy practice
- Experience leading audit assignments from planning through to completion
- Good technical knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS 102 and auditing standards
- Experience supervising and reviewing the work of junior auditors
- Strong client-facing and relationship-building skills
- Excellent organisation and project management skills
- A proactive and commercially minded approach
- The ambition to continue progressing into Audit Manager and beyond

- £48,000 - £55,000 basic salary
