Job Description

Sharp Consultancy's Professional Practice division are delighted to be the exclusive recruitment partner to a top regional accountancy firm based in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. The position of Audit & Accounts Semi Senior is a newly created role, following the acquisition of new clients and will have shared responsibility between audit and accounts preparation, supporting a team of talented Managers.

The Semi Senior position offers a fantastic training ground, working alongside a large diverse cohort of trainees - there is plenty to learn and plenty to get stuck in with.

This role will be best suited to someone who has begun their accountancy journey within a practice setting and has either finished their AAT or are working towards an ACA / ACCA qualification. The opportunity is open to those who have come from an Audit or Accounts background (in practice) and is equally just as applicable if you have mixed Audit & Accounts experience.

What's on offer:
  • Salary between £35,000 - £38,000

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Assist in the management of a diverse client portfolio including SME and OMBs.
  • Assist in the preparation of audit fieldwork including testing fixed assets and bank transaction testing.
  • Attend audit planning meetings with Audit team.
  • Assist in the completion of the audit file alongside team members adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients to resolve queries in person, via phone and email.
  • Completion of Year End statutory accounts for review by manager including the preparation of financial statements.
  • Assist with tax compliance work including the completion of personal self-assessment and corporation tax returns.
  • Completion of CIS returns and P11D's.
  • Assist in ad-hoc payroll work as and when required.
Person Specification:
  • AAT Qualified or ACA / ACCA Studier
  • Experience of working within Accountancy Practice
