Position:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Audio Typist within our Pathology Department based at Crosshouse Hospital. This post is offered on a fixed-term basis for 12 months.

Hours:

37 hours 9-5 Mon Thurs, 9-4:30 Friday.

UK Driving Licence:

A UK driving licence is essential for this role.

What you will do:

Provision of secretarial and clerical services to seven Consultant Pathologists, including preparation of clinical and post mortem pathology reports. The post holder will also supply a secretarial service to other members of the Pathology Department such as biomedical technical staff and mortuary staff.

Knowledge, Training and/or Experience Required for this Post:
  • Medical Secretarial Diploma or appropriate medical secretarial experience.
  • Medical Terminology.
  • Advanced keyboard skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Audio transcription skills.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of the confidentiality issues regarding the nature of the work.
Skills Required:
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Self motivated to ensure work is prioritised and carried out timeously.
  • High degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Ability to use discretion.

NHS Ayrshire & Arran may be able to offer visa sponsorship for certain roles, provided the post meets the minimum salary threshold and any other required criteria.
