AKA is a leading entertainment media agency working with top-tier studios, streaming platforms, and content creators to connect stories with audiences in emotionally resonant and culturally relevant ways. We harness data, creativity, and behavioural insights to shape the future of entertainment.

Position Overview

We are seeking a smart, enthusiastic and quick-learning individual to join our Audiences team as an Audience Insight Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a couple of years' experience in research or media planning, working with audience data and who is looking to grow their skills in a supportive and dynamic environment.

You'll play a vital role in supporting the planning and implementation of audience research projects and the development of actionable insights that inform marketing strategies for a wide range of cultural and entertainment clients. Working closely with the Directors of Audiences, you'll help deliver high-quality research and insight presentations, manage tools and data sources, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.

While existing knowledge of tools like YouGov, TGI and Alchemer (or other survey platforms) is advantageous, training will be provided across all platforms we use. More than specific experience, we value intelligence, enthusiasm, curiosity, and a genuine interest in audiences and the creative industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of audience research through surveys, focus groups, and analysis
  • Assist in managing and updating AKA's in-house research panel, Culture Insights
  • Help produce compelling proposals, reports, and presentations for clients and internal use
  • Create and update audience profile slides and market landscape decks
  • Pull data from industry-standard tools such as TGI and YouGov (training provided)
  • Liaise with key partners including Kantar, YouGov, and The Audience Agency
  • Maintain key data benchmarks and insight trackers
  • Support the development of actionable insights for marketing and communications strategy

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience working with and analysing data, ideally within a research or media planning environment
  • Good Excel skills: working with large datasets, charts, pivot tables and formulas
  • Strong PowerPoint skills with a clear, professional and visual approach to presenting insights. You'll have the ability to create clear, professional presentations that communicate data-driven insights effectively. The role involves producing reports, decks, and materials for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Some exposure to audience data and its use in marketing or media planning.
  • A self-starter with the motivation to manage tasks independently while being responsive to the needs of the Directors.
  • Strong attention to detail is critical for managing and maintaining accurate data, developing insight trackers, and creating reports and decks.
  • An interest in arts, culture, and entertainment audiences, particularly theatre.
  • Strong communication skills are required. You must be able to share information in an engaging, organized and actionable format.
  • Some familiarity with tools such as Google Analytics, AI platforms, or Tableau.
  • Passion for entertainment, media, and understanding human behaviour.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience using platforms like YouGov, TGI, or other audience research tools.
  • Understanding of audience segmentation models (e.g. Mosaic, ACORN, Audience Spectrum, Culture Segments).
  • Familiarity with cultural sector benchmarks (e.g. SOLT, ALVA, DCMS, ONS).
  • Experience creating surveys using tools like SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics, or Alchemer.
  • Previous involvement in data-driven projects or insights reporting in marketing or cultural sectors.

Why Join AKA?

This is a rare opportunity to work with a passionate team on some of the UK's most exciting entertainment and cultural campaigns. You'll develop valuable skills, grow your career, and help shape how arts audiences are understood and engaged.
