Attendance and Welfare Officer

Contract type: Permanent

Work pattern: 35 hours per week, Term Time only + 5 Teacher training Days (39 weeks)

Salary information: Scale 4, £25,407 - £26,517 per annum (dependent upon experience)

Start date: September 2026

As our Attendance and Welfare Officer, you will be at the very heart of our school community. Working as a key member of our Administration Team under the direct supervision of the School Business Leader, your primary mission will be managing all aspects of the health, safety, welfare and attendance of our pupils.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attendance Champion: Act as the school's lead person for pupil attendance and absence. You will manage daily registers, make proactive calls to parents regarding absences, handle exceptional leave requests, and track lateness using the SIMS system.
  • Medical & First Aid Lead: Provide immediate first aid to pupils and staff. You will oversee the school medical room, maintain immaculate record-keeping, liaise with medical professionals, and manage the storage and administration of prescribed medications.
  • Parental & Professional Liaison: Act as a trusted point of contact for parents, visitors, the school nurse, the Local Authority, and external support teams.
  • Administrative Support: Assist the core administrative team with general clerical tasks, including correspondence preparation, photocopying, filing, and managing school trip medical logistics.
