About us

Dr Challoner's has 1368 students, of which 452 are in the Sixth Form. We are regarded as one of the leading grammar schools in the country, and in 2024 Ofsted confirmed their 2019 judgement of Outstanding. As lead school for the Astra Teaching School Hub (Buckinghamshire) we provide an exciting range of professional development opportunities.

Your role will be to support both the recruitment process for trainees onto our main SCITT teacher training course, and to be the lead support role for our Assessment Only route to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - a fast track route for unqualified teachers currently working in schools to gain QTS and further their career.

About you

You should be an effective administrator and communicator, with good IT skills and high standards of accuracy. You will have experience of working in recruitment, sales and/or administration. Experience working within a school environment would be an advantage, although is not essential. This role is term time based, with an additional 2 weeks to be worked as required during school holidays.

Visits to the school are warmly welcome. To arrange a visit or to find out more about the role, please contact our school office on the number below. Please send completed application forms to the email address below.

Dr Challoner's Grammar School is committed to safeguarding and successful candidates will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check. In accordance with Keeping Children Safe In Education guidance, we will carry out online searches to research information on shortlisted candidates, to determine suitability to work with children and keep them safe. This is not part of the shortlisting process; if there are any findings of concern, you will be given the opportunity to address them at interview.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore applicants are required to declare:

  • All unspent convictions and conditional cautions
  • All spent convictions and adult cautions that are not protected (i.e. that are not filtered out) as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2020).

It is an offence to apply for the role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. All shortlisted applicants will be required to complete self-disclosure form and return prior to interview.
