This is a Full Time, Permanent position.

The location of this role is National where we offer hybrid working, you will be based in one of our following offices and from home - Newcastle, York, Manchester, Birmingham, Swindon, Bristol, Portsmouth (Fort Cumberland) and Cambridge.

Salary

National: £38,067 pro-rata

Greater London+: £40,984 pro-rata

What you will be doing

As our Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and continuously strengthening a decision-making (assurance) framework for Historic England, ensuring a structured approach to business case approval via the Portfolio Management Board. You will ensure that assurance activities provide oversight for Portfolio delivery, complementing corporate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and supporting the organisation's ability to manage risk and realise benefits.

This role part of the Strategic Planning Team and sits within Business Improvement Group - a dynamic part of Historic England (HE) committed to enabling innovative delivery, developing HE as an organisation and focusing its performance.

Who we are looking for

  • Experience of assurance management, including implementation of decision making (assurance) frameworks.
  • Demonstrable experience of driving innovation and implementing new initiatives.
  • Sound judgement, with the ability to anticipate issues and support strategic priorities.
  • Ability to engage and influence colleagues at all levels, making challenging concepts and processes clear and actionable
  • Highly collaborative, great with people, influencing and leadership skills, able to work with and get the best from team members and colleagues across multiple disciplines.
