Associate Scientist

Grange Castle, Dublin 22 (11-month contract)

How You Will Achieve It

This laboratory-based role will focus on the characterisation and improvement of Pfizer biotherapeutic and vaccine manufacturing processes.

  • Comply with safety and regulatory requirements is expected and documented through the internal training program.
  • Develop specific knowledge and practical laboratory experience of bioprocessing and separation sciences.
  • Execution of small and or pilot scale technology processes will be at the very heart of your role.
  • Apply knowledge of bioprocess engineering and biochemistry to process development projects.
  • Collaborate closely with analytical scientists during process development studies.
Qualifications Must-have
  • BEng / BSc / MSc / PhD in Biotechnology / Chemical Engineering / Biochemical Engineering / Chemistry or other related disciplines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong process and computer skills.
Nice-to-have
  • Relevant experience in the biopharmaceutical industry
  • Technical fields of experience preferably to include specific knowledge and practical experience of some of the following: mammalian cell technology, biochemistry, cell biology, microbial fermentation, genetics, fluid mechanics, process modelling.
  • Experience in designing and executing components of experimental programs in the laboratory.
  • Familiar with problem-solving, risk analysis and statistical tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, plan and carry out experiments independently, and work with complex instrumentation and software.

Work Location Assignment: On Premise 5 days per week
