Lead Quality, Governance & Compliance Excellence Across Critical Technical Services Shape the Future of Operational ExcellenceAre you an experienced quality and governance leader looking for the opportunity to influence strategy, drive transformational change and make a lasting impact within a highly regulated technical environment? This is a pivotal leadership role where you will champion quality excellence, strengthen governance frameworks and lead continuous improvement across asbestos, health safety fire and water hygiene (Legionella) services.
Working alongside senior leadership, technical specialists and operational teams, you will play a key role in ensuring that quality systems, accreditation standards and governance arrangements not only remain compliant but actively support business growth, innovation and operational excellence.
Purpose & Scope of the RoleAs the team's senior authority for quality, governance and compliance, you will provide strategic leadership across multiple technical service lines, ensuring that management systems, operational processes and governance frameworks remain effective, scalable and aligned to business objectives.
You will be responsible for overseeing quality assurance and compliance activities across UKAS accredited asbestos and legionella consultancy operations, while supporting governance and quality standards within health safety fire services. Leading the development and continual improvement of integrated management systems, you will ensure ongoing compliance with ISO/IEC 17020, ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001 and relevant regulatory requirements.
This role combines strategic leadership with hands on engagement, working closely with Directors, operational managers, technical experts, auditors, assessors and regulatory bodies. You will act as the principal quality advisor to the leadership team, influencing decision making and helping to build efficient, compliant and future ready operational frameworks that support long term business success.

- Quality, Governance & Compliance Leadership
You will bring significant experience leading quality, governance and compliance functions within regulated technical environments. With a strong understanding of UKAS accreditation requirements, quality management principles and associated legislative frameworks, you will provide expert guidance that ensures high standards of compliance, accountability and technical integrity. Your ability to influence behaviours, promote best practice and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement will be critical to success.

Your structured approach to governance, documentation and continual improvement will ensure management systems remain effective, current and aligned with business objectives.

- UKAS & Regulatory Assurance
You will possess substantial experience operating within UKAS accredited environments and managing regulatory assurance activities. Confident leading audits, accreditation assessments and compliance reviews, you will act as a key point of contact for assessors, auditors and regulators. Your expertise in corrective action management, root cause analysis, risk mitigation and continuous improvement will ensure accreditation readiness is maintained and that technical competence and customer confidence remain at the highest level.
Training, Qualifications & ExperienceYou will bring significant leadership experience within quality, governance or compliance functions in a technical or professional services environment. Essential experience includes working within a UKAS accredited asbestos consultancy environment, alongside detailed knowledge of ISO/IEC 17020 and/or ISO/IEC 17025 standards, accreditation processes and audit management.
Experience leading business transformation projects, developing integrated management systems and influencing senior stakeholders is essential, as is a working knowledge of asbestos, legionella and fire safety services.
Professional qualifications in quality management, auditing, compliance, business improvement or change management would be advantageous. Lead Auditor qualifications, quality management certifications, experience with ISO 9001 and exposure to digital transformation or workflow optimisation projects are also highly desirable.
This role offers a flexible hybrid working model, balancing collaboration, stakeholder engagement and operational oversight. You will be expected to attend the office two days per week, with the remainder of your time split between remote working, project activity and stakeholder engagement.
Regular travel to company offices, operational sites and client locations will form part of the role, supporting audits, quality assurance activities, project delivery and leadership visibility across the business.
