Job Description

WisdomTree is seeking a Legal Counsel Associate based in London who will work closely with colleagues across the business on a wide range of projects and initiatives, providing support on commercial, corporate, and regulatory matters.

Key Accountabilities and Scope Commercial Legal Matters
  • Responding to queries from across the business on existing agreements; and
  • Drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements (such as marketing agreements, rebate agreements, index license agreements, distribution platform agreements, employment consultancy agreements, non-disclosure agreements, events agreements, model portfolio license agreements and data agreements).
Corporate Legal Matters
  • Coordinating and collating board meeting documentation, running board meetings and taking minutes;
  • Implementing directorship changes (filings);
  • Assisting with corporate changes (such as opening branches and offices in new countries (together with making the relevant local filings) and group restructuring projects);
  • Assisting with any litigation matters; and
  • Responding to queries on the corporate structure of the business and updating internal records.
Regulatory Legal Matters
  • Analysing new regulations as to the impact on the business; and
  • Advising on General Data Protection Regulation developments and associated documentation across the global business (working closely with the U.S. commercial / corporate legal team).
Skills and Qualifications
  • Have completed a training contract (i.e. now at NQ level).
  • Previous in-house experience (e.g. secondment) preferred but not essential.
  • Must have strong commercial awareness.
  • Must have excellent communication and negotiation skills underpinned by a high level of attention to detail and organisational ability.
  • Must work well in a team and be able to win the confidence of colleagues and others.
  • Must be able to manage their own workload, multi-task effectively and have a pragmatic approach to problem solving.
