Job Description

A highly respected multidisciplinary consultancy is continuing to expand its Landscape Planning team in Manchester and is looking for an Associate Landscape Planner to join their team. The practice has an outstanding reputation across the built environment sector, with a diverse portfolio spanning major energy schemes, strategic infrastructure, urban regeneration, mixed use development and large scale masterplanning projects. They offer a genuinely collaborative environment where landscape planners work closely alongside urban designers, landscape architects, planners and environmental specialists on complex, high profile schemes across the UK.

This role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys balancing technical delivery with client engagement, team leadership and wider business involvement. You'll play a key role in leading LVIA and EIA workstreams, advising clients at a strategic level and helping to drive the continued growth of the Manchester team.

Key responsibilities
  • Leading Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIA) for major development and infrastructure projects
  • Managing landscape inputs into Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA)
  • Providing strategic planning and landscape advice to clients across the energy and built environment sectors
  • Acting as a key client contact and developing long term relationships
  • Leading multidisciplinary project teams and overseeing project delivery
  • Managing programmes, budgets and resource allocation
  • Mentoring and supporting junior team members
  • Supporting business development activities, bids and client presentations
  • Contributing to the ongoing growth and direction of the Landscape Planning team
About You

The successful candidate is likely to have:

  • Significant UK experience within landscape planning and LVIA
  • Strong knowledge of EIA processes and planning policy
  • Experience working across infrastructure, energy and built environment projects
  • A confident and professional approach to client management
  • Proven team leadership and mentoring experience
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills
  • Chartered status or working towards chartership with a relevant professional body
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively
Why Apply?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward thinking consultancy with a strong pipeline of nationally significant projects and a clear commitment to professional development and progression. The business offers a flexible hybrid working environment, a collaborative culture and the chance to play a genuinely influential role within a growing team at an Associate Landscape Planner level.
