Job Description

Our client is looking for an Associate Director for their Birmingham office. This is a leading consultancy that offers a fantastic opportunity to lead their team.

The successful candidate will be experienced in managing large multi-disciplinary tender proposals and will be responsible for identifying opportunities for new work within the existing sector, engaging with the team, clients, and colleagues across the company.

The role:

  • Developing and implementing plans for the long-term benefit of the team in line with business strategy
  • Recruitment, appraisal, performance management, development, morale, and motivation of the team
  • Managing financial performance in specified areas, ensuring healthy profit and cash flow
  • Procuring work through negotiating contracts and agreements with clients and suppliers
  • Meeting deadlines and managing client relations (internal and external)
  • Representing the company and the industry at high levels nationally and internationally
  • Executing responsibilities as outlined in the firm's Management System
  • Supporting external marketing efforts to secure new work
  • Contributing to the development of business strategy
  • Managing large, complex, long-term projects, coordinating resources within tight constraints
  • Planning future resources and promoting learning from successes and challenges
  • Negotiating major contracts with clients and suppliers
  • Setting and meeting budgets and contributing to the business operating plan

What you need to succeed:

  • Drainage design experience in urban or greenfield schemes, including sustainable urban drainage and hydraulic modelling
  • Knowledge of Section 102 and 104 adoptions, 106 connection applications, and 185 diversion work
  • Experience negotiating with statutory bodies such as the Environment Agency on hydraulic matters
  • Experience in compiling assessments for Code for Sustainable Homes, BREEAM, and CEEQUAL
