AECOM is seeking an experienced and motivated Associate Director - Electrical Engineer to join our Dublin team. This leadership role offers the opportunity to manage the delivery of complex multidisciplinary projects across a diverse portfolio, including healthcare, education, railway stations, event centres, and data centres. The successful candidate will combine technical excellence with strong leadership, client relationship management, and commercial awareness to help drive the continued growth of our Building Engineering business.

Working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, you will lead project teams from concept through detailed design, construction, commissioning, and project completion while ensuring the highest standards of quality, innovation, and sustainability.

About the Role

  • Lead the electrical engineering design and delivery of major building projects across healthcare, education, transport, event centre, and data centre sectors.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to electrical engineers and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Act as Project Manager or Discipline Lead on complex projects, ensuring delivery to programme, budget, and quality objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted technical advisor.
  • Support business development activities, including client engagement, proposal preparation, fee development, and project interviews.
  • Coordinate closely with mechanical, structural, civil, architecture, and specialist consultants to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with Irish and international design standards, statutory regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Lead design reviews, value engineering workshops, and risk management activities.
  • Oversee project resourcing, financial performance, and commercial management of electrical engineering commissions.

Here's what we're looking for:

As the successful candidate, you will have experience working across a range of sectors and will possess the following qualifications, skills, and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards chartership through a recognised professional institution.
  • Extensive experience in building services electrical engineering consultancy.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams on large, complex projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish Building Regulations, electrical design standards, and relevant international codes.
  • Demonstrated experience managing project finances, programmes, and client relationships.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
