Associate Director - Bedford

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an MRTPIAssociate Director to join a high-performing consultancy operating across the Oxford-Cambridge Arc.

This is a senior leadership appointment, offering the opportunity to take a central role in one of the UK's most active development corridors. The successful candidate will lead strategic housing projects, manage client relationships and play a key part in expanding the firm's presence across Bedfordshire and the wider commuter belt.

This is a role requiring leadership, commercial drive and technical credibility.

Responsibilities will include:

• Leading major strategic housing and land promotion projects
• Acting as senior advisor to key land promoter and developer clients
• Driving business development, winning new work and strengthening relationships
• Managing and mentoring a growing team of planners
• Overseeing project profitability, budgets and resource planning
• Leading Local Plan examination work and growth corridor submissions
• Managing appeal strategies, including inquiry preparation and advocacy support
• Supporting recruitment and long-term team growth strategy

You will be a visible leader in the business and a key contributor to regional market positioning.

• Strong track record in strategic land and residential planning
• Proven leadership and staff management experience
• Strong commercial awareness and fee management experience
