Associate Accountant

What You Need to Know

Matrix Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Associate Accountant for our client, a global leader in financial services based in Limerick. This is a hybrid position, allowing you to enjoy a blend of office and remote work. The client company comes with great feedback from those we've placed previously, offering an excellent working environment. The role is being offered on a 11-month contract basis and there may be other opportunities that arise towards the end of the contract.

Your New Job

In this role, you'll step into a collaborative finance team where your main focus will be to deliver core accounting and reporting activities. You'll report to a Team Lead and be supported throughout with ongoing training.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly accounting, reporting and oversight duties to support the financial accounting and reporting processes
• Manage reconciliations, ensuring all documentation meets internal policies
• Produce month end analytics and trend data to assist with the review and validation of financial results
• Act as the link between various teams across the business and finance functions
• Investigate and document reporting issues, suggesting improvements
• Partner with global colleagues to implement process enhancements
• Respond quickly to queries from business and finance contacts

What Are We Looking For

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or similar) with experience in a multi-currency financial services or banking environment
• Strong planning, organisational, and analytical skills
• Excellent communication, both written and verbal
• Advanced Excel abilities (including VLOOKUPs, pivots, macros) is essential
• Experience with multi-currency systems, FX, treasury or SOX controls is an advantage
• SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards or similar systems experience beneficial
