Employment Senior / Principal Associate Birmingham

BCL Legal is working with a highly regarded national law firm seeking an experienced Employment Senior / Principal Associate to join its leading Employment team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the UK's largest specialist employment teams, advising a prestigious client base on complex and high-profile employment matters while enjoying genuine career progression and flexible hybrid working.

The Role:
  • Advise clients on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters.
  • Manage complex Employment Tribunal litigation, including discrimination, whistleblowing and unfair dismissal claims.
  • Provide day-to-day employment law advice to HR teams and senior management.
  • Advise on restructures, reorganisations, redundancies and TUPE matters.
  • Support clients on sensitive and high-profile employment issues.
  • Provide employment law advice within highly regulated sectors, including healthcare.
  • Supervise and mentor junior lawyers, delegating work where appropriate.
  • Deliver client training and seminars on employment law developments.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships while supporting business development initiatives.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Qualified Solicitor with significant experience in employment law, ideally at Senior Associate or Principal Associate level.
  • Strong background in Employment Tribunal litigation and employment advisory work.
  • Experience managing complex and high-value contentious matters.
  • Commercially minded with excellent client relationship and business development skills.
  • Confident supervising and developing junior team members.
  • Excellent drafting, advocacy and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • A collaborative approach and a genuine interest in working within a highly regarded specialist employment team.
