Work Location: Loughborough Mountfields family hub Squirrel Way, Loughborough LE12 3GE

Salary: £25,995 - £26,409 per annum (Pro rata for part time)

Working Hours:5 hours per week over 2 evenings Monday & Thursday

Contract Type: Permanent

The Youth & Justice Service is a dedicated service for children aged 11+ who need support. We offer a wide range of non statutory and statutory interventions to children who are experiencing difficulties and challenges where support cannot be provided by universal services alone. We have strong relationships with wider services & partnerships supporting children and their families to ensure that we can jointly deliver the best possible support and care.

About the Role Assistant Youth Worker Role

We are looking for people who are passionate and committed to working with children who can:

  • work flexibly to meet the needs of children, families and victims
  • undertake complex assessments of the needs of children and families
  • be responsible for developing their practice and undertake and implement learning
  • listen to and act upon children's voice to strive for the best outcomes

About You

To apply for this post, you must:

  • Recognised Youth Work Qualification, Degree or Demonstratable experience
  • You have knowledge and /or experience to be able to assist in planning, setting up, and running youth work sessions and events.
  • You are able to engage with young people aged 11-19 yrs in a respectful, consistent, and approachable manner, have the ability to ensure all young people feel welcome, included, and supported regardless of background or ability.
  • You are able to follow & understand safeguarding procedures, and report concerns promptly and appropriately.
  • You are able to communicate effectively with colleagues and contribute positively to the team and the youth work offer.
  • You are dependable, punctual, and proactive in supporting youth work delivery.
  • You are able to confidently contribute & participate in supervision, training and team reflection to improve practice.

In addition, we also expect you to share our commitment to our values and to delivering accessible and inclusive services which meet the needs of all of our residents. You will be asked to demonstrate your understanding of these commitments as part of the selection process.
