Assistant Team Manager - Social Care Qualified
£40 per hour 2-week contract
Are you an experienced social worker looking to take on a leadership role within a dynamic social care environment? We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Assistant Team Manager - Social Care Qualified to join our team on a contract basis for an initial period of two weeks. This role offers an excellent opportunity to oversee the delivery of statutory services for vulnerable children and young people, ensuring safeguarding, high-quality practice, and seamless multi-agency collaboration.
- Leading and managing a team of social workers and professionals to deliver statutory social care services.
- Ensuring the safeguarding and welfare of vulnerable children and young people are central to practice.
- Managing caseload distribution while ensuring that thresholds and legal requirements are met.
- Supporting and supervising social workers and non-qualified staff, mentoring students, and leading group supervision sessions.
- Overseeing the completion of assessments, plans, and reports, including legal documentation, with high standards of accuracy.
- Utilizing performance data and audit feedback to continuously improve practice standards.
- Chair meetings confidently and co-work complex cases with team members.
- Contributing to quality assurance activities and managing performance issues effectively.
- Building strong partnerships with external agencies, stakeholders, and voluntary sector organisations.
- Promoting direct engagement with children and families to inform practice.
- Representing the service both internally and externally, advocating for children and young people.
- Social Worker qualification with current registration.
- Proven experience in child safeguarding and statutory social care.
- Strong leadership, supervision, and team management skills.
- Knowledge of current legislative frameworks and best practice strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams.
