Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this post is between Monday and Friday.

Please note the salary is pro rata for part time hours.

A permanent 14.8 hour vacancy (equivalent to 2 days a week) has arisen for a Band 4 Assistant Psychologist to join the inpatient psychology team at Leverndale Hospital in South Glasgow. You'll work closely with a Consultant and Principal Clinical Psychologist and Trainee Clinical Psychologists and support and assist them to deliver a high quality, evidence-based psychology service to adults admitted to an Acute Admission Unit or Mental Health Rehabilitation Ward at Leverndale Hospital.

You'll hold a minimum 2:1 undergraduate honours degree in Psychology or equivalent, be eligible for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society, and have an interest in applying Psychology to working with people with psychological difficulties. You'll be able to provide evidence of right to work in the UK without restriction. Knowledge of psychological theory and models of application is essential, along with sound knowledge of research methodology and data collection. The postholders should be able to work within a team but also be able to work independently. The postholders should be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
