Job SynopsisWe are seeking an Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering to join the School of Engineering at the University of Limerick. The School's research profile is characterised by expertise in materials, composites, energy, thermal management, mechanobiology, biomedical devices, robotics and digital manufacturing. Candidates should have demonstrated high quality research, a record of securing competitive funding (Horizon Europe, ERC, industrial collaborations) and experience in mechanical engineering domains. The successful candidate will teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Advanced Dynamics (Machine Dynamics and Vibrations) and Computational Mechanics, supervise research, undertake administrative duties and continue impact driven research.
Responsibilities and Teaching- Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Advanced Dynamics and Computational Mechanics on accredited engineering programmes.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research students.
- Produce high impact research publications in internationally recognised, ISI ranked journals.
- Write and secure competitive research funding, notably Horizon Europe, ERC, and industry collaborations.
- Perform administrative duties associated with an academic position.
- At least one year of post doctoral research experience on funded projects.
- Evidence of high impact publications in international ISI ranked journals.
- Strong record of securing competitive research funding (Horizon Europe, ERC, industrial collaborations).
- Experience in mechanical engineering domains such as materials, composites, energy, thermal management, mechanobiology, biomedical devices, robotics and digital manufacturing.
