Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research.
- Conduct excellent research in Commercial Law, Law and Technology, or other relevant areas.
- Perform administrative tasks associated with an academic position.
- Primary law degree and PhD in Law.
- Research and teaching experience in Commercial Law or Law and Technology is desirable.
- Expertise in any area of law that aligns with the School of Law's needs and profile.
The School of Law at the University of Limerick is internationally recognised for its commitment to research and pedagogical excellence. It hosts a vibrant research community, with four internationally recognised research groups: the Centre for Crime, Justice & Victim Studies; the International Commercial and Economic Law Research Group; the European Centre for the Study of Hate (cross-disciplinary); and Research Evidence into Policy, Programmes and Practice (REPPP). Members of the Law School have achieved significant funding success under Horizon 2020 and have been recognised for their outstanding contribution to national strategic priorities and policies. The School of Law has state of the art facilities, including both a moot courtroom and an appellate moot courtroom to support its mooting programme. The School of Law is committed to providing an innovative, enriching, student centred learning environment. Our students study on programmes that are interdisciplinary in nature and undertake pioneering clinical placements with prestigious employers as an integral part of their education. Our sustained commitment to 'law in action' ensures that students have access to opportunities through internships, research projects, intervarsity mooting and debating competitions, and engagement with external stakeholders. Our teaching is research driven and our pedagogical practices are designed to empower students as active and reflective learners. In addition to our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, the School of Law has a vibrant postgraduate research community with 31 postgraduate researchers and many postdoctoral researchers. We are looking to appoint an Assistant Professor in Law to join our team.
