About TheRoleWe are looking for an experienced AssistantProcurement Manager to join our Procurement team and play a key role indriving the sourcing and procurement strategy for TMP. This is an excitingopportunity to lead sourcing activities across multiple spend categoriesincluding food, beverage, consumables, service contracts, and capital. In thisrole, you'll focus on supplier management, cost optimization, and ensuringproduct availability while helping to deliver continuous improvements inquality and service.
As an AssistantProcurement Manager, you will drive supplier relationships, managecontracts, and deliver cost-saving initiatives while ensuring compliance withcompany policies and procedures.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week.
Location: Office-based, London
- Lead and manage the procurement team, ensuring high performance andproductivity.
- Oversee day-to-day procurement activities with a focus on quickresponse times to minimize any impact on operations.
- Source products across a wide range of spend categories, includingfood, beverage, consumables, service contracts, and capital.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existingsuppliers.
- Negotiate and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with agreedterms and conditions.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure adherence to KPIs, servicelevel agreements, and contractual obligations.
- Conduct supplier audits and reviews to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities to improveprofitability.
- Analyse procurement data and report on savings, trends, andperformance against targets.
- Ensure proper contract database management, including the creationand maintenance of a preferred supplier list (PSL).
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure processes areunderstood and followed.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable to streamline the procure-to-payprocess and drive efficiencies.
- Support sales and business development with timely sourcing andcompetitive cost pricing for new products.
- Engage with key stakeholders to implement training programs andbest practices across procurement.
- Drive continuous improvements in all aspects of the procurementprocess with a key focus on cost, quality, and first-time availability.
- Work with the Quality and Technical functions to ensure productsmeet customer, operational, and legal requirements.
- Develop and implement product category plans, tracking performanceagainst KPIs and targets.
- Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management,ideally in a fast-paced operational environment (e.g., food production,distribution, FMCG).
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with experiencehandling supplier relationships and agreements.
- Analytical mindset with experience in data analysis and costcontrol.
- Ability to lead and manage a team, driving performance andcontinuous improvement.
- Strong understanding of procurement systems, policies, andprocedures.
- Ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders toachieve business goals.
- Excellent communication skills, able to manage relationships at alllevels.
