This is your opportunity to join Deloitte's M&A Transactions private equity team.
Working on high-profile assignments with some of the best in the field, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, with a mix of both private equity and corporate transactions, within a highly commercial, client-focused environment.
Our core services include acquisition and vendor due diligence, bid defence and support, and reporting accountant services for capital market transactions. Typically, we work within a wider deal team which accesses the firm's vast range of specialist expertise including commercial and operational due diligence, sale and purchase agreement negotiation, real estate, treasury, pensions, modelling, fund placement, merger integration, IT, and business intelligence. We also often work on international assignments involving cross-border as well as cross-service line teams requiring our people to build wide networks across both the UK and international firm.

Our team provides clients with dedicated support for a transaction or potential transaction. Typically, this involves investigating the target from various perspectives to identify significant value items, risks, and other considerations, helping our clients make informed decisions regarding the transaction.
As an assistant director, you will be required to:
- Be a key day-to-day lead on engagements, leading client interactions and managing overall project progress
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and coordinate diverse workstreams
- Develop an understanding of the target business and its drivers
- Interpret and analyze information memoranda, business plans, and publicly available information on the target business
- Review and analyze historical financial information, including trading, cash flow, and balance sheets
- Review and analyze projections and underlying assumptions
- Assess the adequacy of working capital facilities, including financing limits, terms, and covenants
- Report potential key issues, including risks or price-affecting considerations
- Lead the preparation and drafting of due diligence reports
- Review the sale and purchase agreement and correlate findings of the due diligence process
- Review financial structures and associated credit agreements
- Lead and develop service offerings and propositions to drive practice growth
- Lead training and develop team members
- Manage diverse teams within an inclusive culture where contributions are recognized
Connect to your skills and professional experience
- Exceptional academic background or equivalent experience
- Experience with financial due diligence and transaction services or equivalent
- Experience of corporate and private equity transactions or equivalent
- Ability to produce high-quality, concise reports, with attention to detail and effective communication of complex financial information, including risk management principles
- Advanced Excel skills, including Power Pivot, for analyzing large data sets
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues efficiently
- Experience operating with senior stakeholders internally and externally
- Experience leading business development from opportunity to sale
- Experience building and managing client relationships
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Full travel mobility and flexibility for international travel
- Fluency in a major European language is an advantage
- Strong commercial acumen and market awareness
- Knowledge and application of AI tools within financial due diligence
- Strong client focus on high-quality service
