Context

SYSTRA is expanding its Signature Team in the UK, working on high-profile projects such as Transpennine Upgrade and HS2. Building on our 50 years of UK success, we are growing our team and looking for passionate individuals to deliver across our portfolio.

We are recruiting experienced Assistant Design Managers to join our London engineering team, initially working on the HS2 Old Oak Common project. This role involves managing design delivery for packages covering Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Public Health, Fire, and Communications disciplines, including ancillary buildings and urban realm packages.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing the delivery and coordination of technical aspects of the HS2 OOC Station design work packages.
  • Develop and compile technical design packages with consultants aligned to project timelines.
  • Coordinate between design and construction teams.
  • Support Engineering, BIM, and Technical Assurance teams to achieve Code 1 Acceptance of all design deliverables.
  • Ensure consistency and quality of deliverables across the project.
  • Support the Design Manager and Engineering Manager as needed.
Candidate Profile
  • Degree qualified in relevant disciplines or proven career abilities.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams on major infrastructure projects.
  • Understanding of design and construction processes, preferably in rail (RIBA/GRIP).
  • Experience in disciplines such as Civil, Structures, Bridges, Utilities, Architecture, MEP, Fire, or Communications.
  • Knowledge of CDM obligations.
  • Broad design management/engineering experience on infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with ProjectWise and Bentley Systems is advantageous.
