Assistant Accountant
Leeds Study Support Opportunity
A growing and fast-paced business based in Leeds is looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their accounting career, with exposure to a broad range of finance duties.
Working closely with the Financial Controller and wider finance team, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business.
Key Responsibilities- Managing the purchase ledger, ensuring supplier invoices are processed accurately and efficiently
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving invoice queries
- Preparing supplier payment runs
- Assisting with credit control and monitoring outstanding customer balances
- Supporting cash allocation and bank reconciliations
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations
- Assisting with intercompany reconciliations
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting month-end processes
- Assisting with financial reporting and audit requirements
- Working collaboratively with the wider finance team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
- Previous experience with month end (accruals, prepayments etc)
- Strong reconciliation skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confident using Excel and accounting software
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving
- A team player who enjoys working collaboratively and supporting colleagues
- Currently studying ACCA/CIMA or ready to commence
