We are seeking an Associate to join the EMEA Real Estate Sustainability & Impact team in London. The role focuses on integrating sustainability initiatives throughout the real estate lifecycle. The successful candidate will manage the Real Estate team's Sustainability & Impact (S&I) Framework, driving value creation, capital raising, and asset resilience, while reporting to various stakeholders.
Responsibilities- Manage ESG-related activities for the EMEA real estate portfolio, including due diligence, strategy setting, value creation initiatives, fund positioning, compliance, and performance reporting.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in real estate ESG, conducting research on market dynamics, competitor activities, client needs, and ESG investment drivers.
- Monitor and implement S&I frameworks across real estate investments.
- Collaborate with acquisition and asset management teams to identify and track value-adding S&I initiatives during underwriting and ownership.
- Develop and communicate a compelling business case for S&I to diverse stakeholders.
- Work with legal, compliance, and other teams to advance S&I objectives, including policy and legal document amendments.
- Manage external vendor relationships to support the S&I program and assess vendor fit.
- Organize training, workshops, market updates, and educational sessions on S&I topics for internal and external audiences.
- Maintain an organized S&I resource library with version control.
- Several years of professional experience, ideally in both S&I and real estate sectors.
- Knowledge of real estate sustainability standards (CRREM, BREEAM, EPC, GRESB) and their practical application.
- Understanding of European ESG standards and trends (TCFD, SFDR, TNFD).
- Strong communication skills for internal and external engagement and influence.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and project management.
- Proficiency in creating presentation materials and data management spreadsheets.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines proactively.
