Job Description

SEN Teaching Assistant - Aspiring Clinical Psychologist - Autism - Primary & Secondary - Woking

The School: A leading SEN school in Surrey, renowned for providing a safe and supportive learning environment for children with complex learning, social, and communication difficulties, including physical disabilities. The school offers therapies such as occupational therapy, physiotherapy, music, and speech and language therapies, integrated into the students' Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP). The dedicated team collaborates closely with therapists to support the physical and emotional wellbeing of students. Facilities include a therapy pool, sensory rooms, and I-Gaze technology. The school also offers excellent on-site training and development opportunities for career progression to roles such as senior support assistants, teachers, and therapy assistants.

Role Overview: Working with secondary-aged pupils in a new state-of-the-art building opening in October.

Responsibilities:

  1. Providing assistance and support for children before, during, and after lessons.
  2. Helping children understand and participate in tasks appropriately.
  3. Encouraging the development of social skills.
  4. Maintaining individual student records.
  5. Supporting confidence and motivation.
  6. Participating in team meetings and training sessions.
  7. Supporting the organisation's developing culture.
  8. Adhering to safeguarding regulations.
  9. Supporting individual needs, including medical and personal care tasks (training provided), and providing physical support as needed.

Summary:

  • £89 to £105 daily rate (9am-3.30pm, 5-day week)
  • Temp-to-perm contracts
