What is the Aspire Summer Internship?The Edge Health Aspire Summer Internship opportunity has been developed to provide individuals with the skills needed to succeed in health data consulting, with a particular focus on providing opportunities to individuals from under-represented backgrounds.
This internship is only open to individuals from following protected characteristics:
- From minority ethnic backgrounds and/or
- People with a disability (as defined by the Equality Act 2010) and/or
- From a disadvantaged socio-economic background (eligible for free school meal at some point during secondary education, attended a school that is above the regional average for Free School Meals, first generation in immediate family to go to university, occupation of main household earner was considered lower socio-economic background at the age of 14).

About the InternshipAs an Intern, you will delve into delivering one-off projects to meet clients' needs, and contribute to the development of repeatable propositions to take to the market under the guidance of our professional team. The organisations we work with have a wide range of needs, and differing levels of technical sophistication. We are committed to delivering work which brings the maximum benefit to our clients, patients, and the NHS, and doing this requires flexibility in the analytical approach we bring to each problem.
You can look forward to:
- Project Delivery: Supporting day-to-day delivery of consulting projects, guided by a Senior Analyst, Consultant or Senior Consultant, and led by a Director.
- Application of Technical & Industry Expertise: Applying your academic knowledge and skills to deliver high-quality and value-adding outputs for our clients.
- Innovation: Learning from professional experiences and previous projects to build new propositions for use in the health sector.
- Business Development: Contributing to Edge Health's growth through team training and development and preparation of marketing material.

- Technical skills in the field of data analytics, economic modelling, or statistics, developed either through academia or professional experience;
- Be highly motivated, self-driven and versatile, and excited to work within a small and growing start-up;
- Have the ability to engage effectively and enjoyably with a range of people, and to communicate impactfully the findings and implications of their work;
- Have a knowledge of coding in SQL and preferably R or similar statistical languages, or a willingness and ability to learn how to do so;
- Have experience of delivering projects and outputs to tight timescales and to a high quality;
- Take proactive responsibility for personal development, and the development of individuals and teams around them.
Location: We are based in an office in central London. Although the expectation is to attend the office, we can make flexible working arrangements.

Compensation: £34,000 per annum (pro rata)
