Are you a dynamic, enthusiastic, and experienced Art Practitioner ready to inspire young creatives? George Watson's College is looking for you to join our team for an exciting, week-long Art Holiday Camp from Monday 13 - Friday 17 October 2025.
You'll support our Camp Leader in guiding children of different ages and abilities through the camp's theme. This theme will provide a rich canvas for teaching new techniques in drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture, all while building creative confidence.
You'll be working in a supportive and collaborative environment, alongside colleagues dedicated to creating a fun and memorable experience for children and young people. This isn't just a one-off opportunity; it's a new role with potential for regular future holiday camp development. As we continually expand our program, we're looking for dedicated practitioners to join our team for future opportunities.
Hours of work will be 35 hours per week, 8:30am - 4pm (including a 30 minute unpaid break).

Main ResponsibilitiesAs part of a dedicated team, you will support our Camp Leader in delivering fun, engaging, and inclusive lessons and activities. Your primary duties will include:
- Delivering pre-planned activities and lessons for children with a wide range of abilities.
- Ensuring a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment for all children.
- Supervising and engaging with children during activities, breaks and mealtimes to ensure they feel welcomed and included.
- Supporting the smooth daily operation of the camp, including setting up learning spaces and managing registration and sign-out procedures.
- Attending team meetings to ensure seamless coordination.
The successful candidate will be required to complete mandatory training in health and safety, child protection, and fire safety, with all materials provided in advance.

Ideal CandidateIf you're passionate about art education and ready to make a tangible impact on young artists, we would love to hear from you.
- Previous experience of working with children and young people
- Qualified or currently working towards qualification in childcare, education, and/or the relevant subject area e.g. diploma/degree level
- Ability to plan and deliver fun and structured activity and learning sessions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Contract Type: Short term contract from Monday 13 - Friday 17 October 2025
Salary: The salary for this position will be in the Grade 2 range of £27,090 - £30,231 (based 36.25 hours, 52 weeks) which equates to £502 - £561 per week (based on a 35 hour week).
