Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent's diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.

The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.

The Housing Management Service is looking for a new Area Tenancy Manager to bring their experience in Housing Management to support residents on a patch of properties, managing end-to-end tenancies and helping Brent to deliver high quality services to our residents.

The Post

As an Area Tenancy Manager (Housing Officer), you'll manage the end-to-end tenancies for a patch of social housing tenants.

You will have the opportunity to develop detailed knowledge across various areas of tenancy management, including voids, lettings, income and arrears, anti-social behaviour (ASB), and providing holistic, person-centred support.

With a consistent housing patch, you'll improve the quality and perception of the Housing Management Service. You'll work with services across the Council to ensure vulnerable tenants have access to services they need, and Brent's estates and homes are good quality, safe, and secure.

You will also uphold the guidelines set out by the Social Housing Regulation Act 2023, demonstrating a commitment to improving standards and ensuring the safety and quality of our social housing in compliance with this critical legislation.

The Person

We're looking for resilient individuals who thrive in dynamic environments and are not afraid of hard work. You should have a great sense of humour, team spirit, and strong customer service skills with a focus on empathy and tenant satisfaction.

Knowledge of local authority statutory and support services related to housing, awareness of relevant housing legislation and welfare benefits, and excellent organisational and IT skills are essential.

You will have experience in the Social Housing sector and be motivated by delivering high quality services to our tenants.

You will excel in this role if you are committed to making a difference, can work independently, and are eager to learn and develop your career.

Benefits
  • Up to 33 days annual leave (depending on length of service) plus bank holidays
  • Excellent pension with generous employer contributions (LGPS)
  • Hybrid and flexible working options available for most roles
  • Supportive family friendly policies for parents, guardians, and carers
  • Health and wellbeing support, including access to eye test support and a 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme
  • Financial supports such as education sessions, childcare deposit loans, and season ticket loans

  • Learning and development opportunities to help you grow your career
  • Access to My Brent Rewards with exclusive discounts on shopping, travel, leisure, and entertainment
