Job Description

Arborist Lead Climber

Location: Beacon Barracks, MOD Stafford

Hourly Rate: £16 to £19 depending on experience and qualifications, plus company benefits, and overtime/call out opportunities

Contract type: Permanent, Full Time

Working hours: Monday - Friday. Seasonal hours: Summer - 7:30am to 4:30pm, Winter - 8am to 3:30pm

About the role

Lead Arborist responsible for tree removals, crown thinning, deadwooding, tree planting and ongoing tree maintenance, working at MOD sites in the Midlands. The role involves driving operational excellence, supporting team development and upholding the company's reputation in forestry and arboriculture services.

Requirements
  • Proven experience as an Arborist, with an eye for detail and passion for high quality tree care.
  • Excellent understanding of arboriculture, safety protocols, care & maintenance of all equipment, and the ability to undertake operations safely and competently, with a can do attitude.
  • Relevant Industry Qualifications (essential):
    • CS30 / NPTC 201 - Level 3 Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross cutting.
    • CS31 / NPTC 202 - Level 3 Felling Small Trees.
    • CS32 / NPTC 304 - Level 3 Felling and Processing Medium Trees (380-760mm).
    • CS38 / NPTC 203 - Level 2 Tree Climbing and Aerial Rescue.
    • CS39 / NPTC 204 - Level 2 Operate a Chain Saw from a Rope and Harness.
    • CS40 / NPTC 302 - Level 3 Aerial Tree Pruning.
    • CS41 / NPTC 303 - Level 3 Aerial Tree Rigging.
  • Additional tickets & certificates beneficial (e.g., First Aid & Forestry, MEWP, Wood Chipper, IPAF) - training can be provided in house.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with clients and staff at all levels.
  • Full, clean UK Driving Licence.
  • Willing & able to pass DBS & BPSS checks.
