Apprentice Plumber Overview

  • Starting rate: £8 per hour (£16,224 per annum)
  • Qualified rate: £16.91 per hour (£34,293 per annum)
What the Apprenticeship Is About

As an apprentice at Ian Williams you'll learn on the job, gaining hands on experience while studying at college. You'll be supported by experienced tradespeople, including a dedicated mentor, and work towards mastering your chosen trade.

Responsibilities
  • Work on projects predominantly in social housing, with locations in Bradford and potentially other areas.
  • Travel as needed; transport provided where possible.
  • Learn a range of systems: bathroom installations, hot and cold water systems, emergency repairs, domestic and commercial sites (primarily domestic).
  • Develop a neat and methodical approach to your work.
  • Attend college one day a week to study the theory behind the trade.
  • Work with our preferred provider PFP Thrive Professional Training & Apprenticeship Providers.
  • Build a portfolio of evidence for your End Point Assessment (EPA).
  • Contribute to the team's overall success.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • No prior experience needed - just a genuine passion for plumbing and practical, hands on work.
  • Positive attitude and problem solving mindset.
  • Commitment to building a career at Ian Williams.
  • Strong organisational skills to juggle college and work.
  • GCSE (or equivalent) grade 4 (C) or above in Maths and English.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK on a permanent basis (no visa sponsorship).
