Job Description

West Berkshire was founded in 1975. The Club is renowned for its relaxed, friendly atmosphere and is open to visitors and members . The course provides a good challenge for all standards of player thanks to a choice of tee position, ranging from 5,450 yds to a championship length of over 7,000 yds. Set on the Berkshire Downs, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, the location offer players a peaceful round of golf amongst tree lined fairways with stunning views across the surrounding countryside.

As an apprentice, you'll work at our company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside our experienced staff.

What you'll do at work
  • Daily course maintenance & setup
  • Using & maintaining pedestrian and ride-on course maintenance machinery
  • Mowing
  • Changing holes
  • Moving tee markers
  • Construction & drainage work on the golf course
  • Tree & woodland maintenance

  • A basic understanding of the game of golf is preferred but not essential.

Desired qualifications
  • GCSE English (Grade grade C or 4 and above) is desirable but not essential
  • GCSE Maths (Grade grade C or 4 and above) is desirable but essential
Future Progression
  • Possibility of a employment if a suitable role is available.
Training:
  • Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
  • The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 Golf Green Keeping Apprenticeship
  • The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
  • The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
