Weekly Hours:40 hrs- Usually 6am -2pm, some weekend (mornings) will be required.
Southwick Park Golf Club is an 18-hole parkland golf course located in the Hampshire countryside near Fareham and Portsmouth. The course offers a fantastic blend of challenging play and beautiful natural surroundings, making it an enjoyable experience for golfers of all abilities. With its well-maintained fairways, scenic setting and welcoming atmosphere, Southwick Park is a great place to develop skills and enjoy the game. They are looking for a new apprentice to join their experienced and friendly team.
As an apprentice, you'll work at our company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside our experienced staff. Estimates start date is 1st November 2026.
What you'll do at work
- Daily course maintenance & setup
- Using & maintaining pedestrian and ride-on course maintenance machinery
- Mowing
- Course set up
- Changing holes
- Moving tee markers
- Bunker preparation
- Construction & drainage work on the golf course
- Tree & woodland maintenance

Desired skills and qualities
- Reliability
- Good Communication

- Keenness to learn and an interest in this industry
- Candidates must be able to work well as part of a team but also show initiative when working alone.
- They must have integrity and honesty.
- Be willing to work outside in all weather conditions and a good level of basic fitness.
- Be willing to learn new skills.
- A basic understanding of the game of golf is preferred but not essential.
Desired qualifications
- GCSE English (Grade grade C or 4 and above) essential
- GCSE Maths (Grade grade C or 4 and above) essential
- Driving license would be advantageous but not essential, being able to commute to and from work is essential.
Future Progression
- Possibility of a employment if a suitable role is available and for the right person.
Training:
- Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
- The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 Sports Turf or Golf Green Keeping Business Administration Apprenticeship
- The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
- The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
