About this Role
Our technology team sits at the heart of the organisation, ensuring that internal and external users benefit from the most efficient and user-friendly applications and services.
As an Application Specialist, you will work as part of the Application Services team reporting into the Application Delivery Manager of New Business & Service Delivery. The Application Specialist will have a focus on project delivery for Sonata and connected systems within Scottish Friendly.
You will be responsible for the analysis, design and implementation of Sonata specific developments, including updates to configurations and workflows that support key business projects and processes. You will contribute to escalated, level 3, incident and problem resolution, collaborating with developers on fixes, and support, for Sonata and connected core business applications.
Key Responsibilities
Support Analysts in requirements-gathering, analysis, solution design and process modelling of new projects within the business.
Problem solves solutions for new project developments using Sonata.
Design and develop workflow models within Sonata to support new and existing business processes.
Configure Sonata across the life and wealth sides of the software as required to support new and existing business processes
Debug workflow failures.
Provide Application Support to the business.
Be responsible along with other team members for Sonata Source of Truth (SOT) environment including production SOT deployments out of hours.
Maintaining strict release processes for development.
Business and data analysis.
Presenting complex analytical concepts to all levels of the business.
Qualifications and Skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all teams within the organisation.
Desire to learn and ability to multi-task.
Initiative and problem-solving skills, being able to work through a problem, try different
Excellent business knowledge of Life/Pensions/Investment products.
Experience of regulatory projects within Life/Pensions.
Experience of working with digital wealth and pension management platforms.
Experience of working with Sonata and / or MGM Talisman (desirable, but not essential).
Awareness/experience of workflow solutions.
Knowledge T-SQL/P-SQL (not essential).
Proficient in using JIRA for task updates and tracking.
Knowledge of Agile ways of working (not essential).
Experience of supporting data driven decision making.
Knowledge of QA practices (desirable).
