Application Solutions Architect - Belgium; Brussels.

Interviewing now New Year start on a long term project for a few years at least, starting with 6 months + extensions.

You will be expected onsite in Brussels at least 2 days/week to start, thereafter and once familiar with the processes, systems, etc. a more remote regime can be agreed upon, with occasional quarterly onsite visits.

EU citizen required in order to be able to work from Europe freely, and speak one of the local languages of French or Dutch with English.

Required Skills and Competencies

Excellent communication skills in at least one of the two national languages (FR or NL), as well as in English
Minimum of 3 years proven experience as an Architect, with at least 10+ years of Java Application development

Technical Skills and Knowledge

Development skills (Java or other programming languages)
WS standards (SOAP, WSDL, WS security)
API standards (OAuth2, Swagger, JWT)
Understanding of SOA and API principles (eg, loose coupling architecture, microservices)
SOA Design Patterns, Enterprise Integration Patterns
Knowledge of REST principles
Ability to understand and interpret XML/JSON transformations
Strong technical writing skills and ability to produce high-quality documentation
Messaging models (eg, publish-subscribe)
Testing methodologies
UML, BPMN
Agile and Scrum methodology
Scripting languages
Development methodologies (Enterprise Unified Process, Rational Unified Process, Scrum, Kanban)
Project methodologies (PMBOK, PRINCE2)
ITIL processes
Enterprise Architecture frameworks (TOGAF)
Best practices related to interoperability
Tools and technologies: Oracle Service Bus, OBTM, Axway, WebLogic integrations, DataPower
Web service editors (such as Eclipse) and XML editors
Source management and version control using GIT
Web service testing tools (SOAPUI, ReadyAPI, Postman)
Knowledge of various client frameworks (Axis2, CXF, .NET, JAX-WS RI, Rampart)
Jira, Confluence
Mural, Miro
Jenkins, Hudson, ELK stack
Hands-on experience with web services (WSDL, SOAP, XML, XSD, XQuery, XPath, XSLT)
Experience with the full life cycle of a web application (design - development - testing - deployment - release - support) in a service-oriented architecture
Experience working in a Scrum sprint cycle
